Art Teacher (Part-Time)

Oakcrest School, an independent school for girls in grades 6-12 guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, located in Vienna, Virginia, seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher committed to and supportive of the mission of Oakcrest and the spirituality of Opus Dei to join our Visual and Performing Arts Department.

Applicants should possess:

• Strong educational background in the liberal arts;
• Bachelor’s degree in Art; degree or experience in art methods and education;
• Experience teaching drawing and painting;
• Minimum of three to five years teaching experience in a rigorous program;
• Excellent communication skills and an understanding of the developmental needs of adolescent girls;
• Experience with and desire to collaboratively work as part of a team;
• Commitment to excellent teaching and to continued professional development;
  desire to involve oneself with the school and communicate effectively beyond the classroom.
  experience with computer design skills and/or yearbook leadership experience preferable, but not required.
