Head of School

Mater Dei Academy is currently seeking a Head of School. Mater Dei Academy is a Catholic classical second-level school for boys and girls in Cork, Ireland. The mission of the Academy is to create a Christ-centred school community, dedicated to our students’ formation in the Faith, academic excellence, and the evangelization of society, rooted in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

The Academy opened in 2020 and currently has 60 students enroled with ambitions to double admissions in the coming years. The Academy is a recognised Cambridge International School and has established student exchange with international schools in France and Spain. Our six-year program culminates in the Irish Leaving Certificate examination which enables students to enter third-level education in Ireland or elsewhere.

The Academy’s online homeschool program, Mater Dei Education is Ireland’s only classical Catholic homeschooling program, providing textbooks, lesson plans and online learning resources to homeschoolers in Ireland and beyond.

The Board of Trustees at the Academy is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious leader to serve as Head of School. Your mission is to deepen the committment to Faith formation and academic excellence, to grow Mater Dei Academy through student admissions, to effectively manage and lead the faculty of the Academy, and to serve as an evangelisist for Catholic classical education in Ireland.

The ideal candidate will have an unwavering committment to the mission of the Academy, a proven track record in education and/or management, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
