Light of Christ Academy Principal

Light of Christ Academy, a Catholic school in the Kalamazoo Diocese, is accepting applications for a leader to serve as the school’s Principal. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for one called to leadership in Catholic, classical, liberal arts education.

The school serves approximately 60 students in a PK-3-6-year-old licensed Montessori program and K-8th grade Catholic classical upper academy. Located in Augusta Michigan, Light of Christ Academy embraces its Catholic identity using the Montessori and classical methods and is fully integrated into the life of Saint Ann Parish.

Light of Christ Academy seeks a principal to fulfill its mission by serving as the spiritual, educational, and managerial leader as we seek to grow. The principal is charged with the implementation of the philosophy, mission, objectives, and the overall management of the school.

The principal must be a practicing Catholic, preferably with a master’s level degree or equivalent, experience in teaching and administration in a school setting. The candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of elementary education, the classical curriculum, strong administrative and communication skills, and a commitment to collaborating with staff, parents, faculty, volunteers, students, parishioners and benefactors. The principal is a close collaborator of the pastor.

LCA Principal has a dual reporting relationship: one to the Saint Ann Pastor, the other to the Superintendent of Kalamazoo Diocesan Schools.
