Holy Family Classical School seeks a compassionate and skilled Learning Specialist to support students with diverse learning needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct assessments, develop Individualized Academic Plans (IAPs), and address student learning needs.
• Instructional Support: Provide specialized, research-based instruction tailored to diverse learners.
• Collaboration: Partner with teachers, parents, and staff to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Progress Monitoring: Track and analyze student performance to guide interventions.
• Advocacy & Compliance: Advocate for students’ needs and ensure compliance with special education laws and scholarships, such as Lindsey Nicole Henry.

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or related fields (required).
• Certifications preferred: Reading Specialist or Gifted & Talented
Knowledge of Literacy Development
• Theories of Reading and Writing: Understanding foundational theories and evidence-based practices in literacy development, especially in the Science of Reading
• Stages of Literacy Development: Awareness of how reading and writing skills evolve from early childhood through adulthood.
• Diverse Learners: Expertise in addressing the needs of English
Language Learners (ELLs), students with dyslexia, and other diverse populations.

INSTRUCTIONAL EXPERTISE
• Evidence-Based Strategies: Implementation of the Science of Reading within instruction.
• Intervention Techniques: Designing and delivering targeted interventions for struggling readers.
• Differentiation: Tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Strong commitment to Catholic education and the classical model.
