Classroom Aide
Good Shepherd School, a Catholic elementary school (Kindergarten – Grade 8) located in Pacifica, seeks a classroom aide. Join our warm,

Classroom Responsibilities
Provides support to an elementary classroom teacher with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following:
– Provide individual and small group instruction, with guidance from the teacher. Assist students with or without the teacher.
– Assist with the organization and maintenance of an orderly and organized classroom environment, which facilitates the everyday
activities and the management of the classroom.
– Demonstrate effective behavioral management strategies under the direction of the classroom teacher.
– Provide a safe environment when working with students in order to facilitate their learning.
– Assist teacher in the preparation of instructional materials such as bulletin boards, games, science materials, etc.
– Assist teacher with liturgical preparations.
– Assist teacher with lesson planning as it pertains to the progress of grouped students.
– Assist with enrichment and/or remedial work activities.
– Be willing to learn how to check and input student data online.
– Monitor groups of students during enrichment classes, i.e. art, music, science lab, computer and library as directed by the teacher.
– Assist the teacher with student questions and student behavior
– Assist with clerical work including filing, copying, assigned.
– Perform other duties consistent with the job description.
External Responsibilities
Provides support to the school with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following:
– Perform playground supervision duties for Recess and Lunch Recess.
– Support educational programs in the school site.
– Be willing learn and use school technology.
– Assist with extended care when needed.
– Assist with carline when needed.
– Assist in the office when needed
– Perform other duties as assigned
– Other duties assigned by Principal.
Prerequisites:
– Four-year undergraduate degree (preference or equivalent)
– Experience working with school age children
– Comfortable working in a Catholic school environment
– Current First Aid/CPR certification
Position Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Compensation:
Pay: $25.00
