Website Fiat Classical Academy Aurora, Indiana

Fiat Classical Academy, a private Catholic high school opening to 9th and 10th grade students in August 2024, is now hiring faculty for its inaugural year.

Inspired by the joy and hope of St. John Paul II, Fiat Classical Academy offers young men and women an encounter with the one, true, good and beautiful through a liberal arts education which cultivates communion with God as we seek together the face of Christ. FCA’s four educational pillars in teaching the art of being human are cultivating wonder, encouraging encounter, fostering integration, and seeking excellence.

Ideal candidates are passionate, creative, dedicated, disciplined and knowledgeable. They should have a desire to be an ongoing student, both in content and classical pedagogy. Inaugural FCA faculty will give life to the curricular expectations created by the founding team. Teachers should desire a collaborative relationship with other faculty members, including regular conversations and communal gatherings with one another.

As a small school, priority will be given to applicants able to work part-time. To facilitate this, FCA is considering the use of block scheduling (90-minute classes on two or three set days of the week). Teachers in the following areas of expertise are needed:

·         Ancient History

·         Ancient Literature/Composition

·         Latin

·         Music Performance

·         Art (drawing, sculpting, painting, etc.)

·         Science (possibly)

Please note that our two administrators will be teaching Theology, Philosophy, Math, Physical Education, and possibly Science, so we are not hiring within these disciplines at this time. At this time, no non-teaching positions are available. If and when this changes, our Employment Opportunities page will be updated.

Applicants must be practicing Catholics who love the Faith and whose lives are a witness to students, families and the surrounding community.

Please send a resume, cover letter (including a brief educational philosophy) and three references by April 1 to Brad Macke at contact@fiatclassicalacademy.org, or by mail to PO Box 63, Aurora, Indiana 47001.

FCA is located in Aurora, Indiana, close to Cincinnati, Ohio.
