Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri is a classical, Catholic, co-educational high school in Kansas City, Missouri. Our mission is to form joyful, generous, faithful Catholic leaders prepared for community life and mission in the modern world. We seek to do this by cultivating the minds and hearts of our students through an integrated curriculum that fosters a love of truth, beauty, and goodness. We are seeking talented and dynamic faculty members to join our team starting in the 2025-26 academic year. A minimum of three years of teaching experience is preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education. Candidates must be practicing Catholics and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication on skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise. In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members attend daily Mass with the entire student body and assist in planning and advising student and other school activities.

The ideal candidate will have:
● A bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject.
● A strong commitment to the Catholic faith and the school’s mission and vision.
● A passion for teaching and learning in the classical tradition, with a preference for
Socratic methods and primary sources.
● A familiarity with the works of G.K. Chesterton and other great authors of the Western
literary tradition.
● A willingness to collaborate with other teachers and staff in a professional and collegial
manner.
● An openness to teaching one or more courses outside of areas of subject matter
degree(s), subject to competence and ability to do so.
● A flexibility and adaptability to the needs and challenges of a growing school.

The responsibilities of the faculty member will include:
● Teaching four to six courses depending on the school’s needs and the teacher’s
qualifications.
● Preparing and delivering engaging and effective lessons that align with the school’s
curriculum and standards.
● Assessing and grading students’ work and providing constructive feedback.
● Communicating with parents, students, and administrators about student progress and
concerns.
● Participating in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
● Supporting the school’s culture of faith, virtue, and joy.
● Complete and comply with school and diocesan requirements for Virtus and safe
environment training.
