Teaching Positions

We are looking for committed, faithful teachers who will join us in our pursuit of a joyfully Catholic, classical education. Experience with classical education or a great books curriculum (Chesterton Academy or similar) is preferred. The ideal candidate will be willing to teach an array of subjects within the disciplines of science and mathematics, literature, history, and theology. Competitive compensation package offered for qualified candidates.

We are looking for teachers with experience in and passion for Catholic classical education in the following disciplines; Part time options may also be available:

Art History & Theory

For the 2024-2025 school year, we are in particular need of teachers who can teach:

Latin I, II, and III
Art History & Theory

Generalists able to teach any of the above as well as Humanities and Science would be much favored. Proper training in Euclid is generally received through a Classics or Great Books program such as is offered at Thomas Aquinas College or St. John’s College.

To teach HUMANITIES courses, successful candidates shall be skilled in teaching multiple levels of the following subjects: History, Latin, Literature, Writing, Philosophy, and Theology. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in the subject or a related Humanities field is required.

To teach MATH or SCIENCE courses, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field is required, with previous experience teaching Math (Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus) or Science (Geology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).

For all positions, three to five years of teaching experience is preferred, though we will consider candidates without extensive experience.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.

In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body, assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities, and joyfully witness by their life and teaching to a life in Christ.
