Requirements:
● Must be a practicing Catholic and willing to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the
Magisterium.
● Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, classroom
management, and conflict resolution.
● Experience teaching in a classical education is not required but would be ideal.
● Clean background check to work with minors.
Qualifications:
● The ideal candidate will have a strong background in choral music, experience in
teaching, and a deep understanding of music history from a classical perspective.
● Be able to develop lesson plans that incorporate music theory, history, and
performance, and foster a love for music among students.
● The instructor will also collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music
across the curriculum and participate in school events.
● Qualified applicants should possess a degree in Music Education, Music History, or a
related field.
● Have a track record of successful teaching, ideally within a classical or liberal arts
educational environment.
Responsibilities:
● In addition to their teaching responsibilities, all faculty at Chesterton Academy
participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue,
and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members attend daily Mass with the
entire student body and assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities.
