About Holy Angels Academy:
Holy Angels is a private, independent co-ed Catholic school serving students from 3-year-old pre-school through Grade Twelve. Holy Angels enjoys full accreditation with the National Association of Private, Catholic, and Independent Schools (NAPCIS). Elementary Teacher Purpose:
The Elementary Teacher, under the general supervision of the Headmaster, advises on and implements curriculum in grade 3 or 4, teaching all subject matters while nurturing a joy and love of learning.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and implements lessons for students in religion, reading, writing, history, science, art, spelling, math, English, and grammar.
- Maintains ongoing record of student behavioral and academic progress, documenting concerns, providing feedback to students and regularly communicating student progress with parents and the school administration.
- Implements a variety of teaching techniques, providing for individual or small group instruction as needed to meet diverse student needs
- Establishes clear expectations, procedures, and routines for student behavior in the classroom and reinforces school expectations.
- Maintains a positive classroom environment centered around virtue and respect.
- Addresses student failure to meet expectations and provides appropriate discipline as needed.
- Models appropriate participation in daily school prayers and daily Mass.
- Leads students in prayers throughout the day such as the Angelus, Rosary, Grace before Meals, and the Act of Contrition.
Qualifications:
- Passionately Catholic and in full communion with the Magisterium of the Church and the mission of Holy Angels Academy.
- Experience teaching is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to use discretion, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to effectively communicate, both in verbal and written form, with students, fellow faculty/staff, and parents.
