Position Description
Holy Family High School, located in Broomfield, Colorado, is hiring a President and CEO beginning with the 24/25 school year.

Holy Family High School is a school defined by faith and families, by greatness and tradition. HFHS is an institution of faith formation that uses excellent academics, arts, athletics, and extracurriculars as a means to guide students towards a relationship with Christ and a final resting place in heaven, thus, Holy Family students are surrounded by a school community that genuinely cares about them. DEMOGRAPHICS

Currently, 725 students attend Holy Family High School of which 86% of the students are Catholic. Students represent a diverse race and ethnic background with 63% of students being White, 21% being Hispanic/Latino, 6% being multi-racial, 5% being Asian, and 2% being African American. THE POSITION

The School President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a disciple on mission to spread the Good News, who meets the requirements to promote the overall education ministry in the Archdiocese of Denver, and disciple others within the educational community of the Catholic school to create an “apostolic-friendly” environment that will encourage creative missionary initiative in the school. As the CEO of the school, the President plays a critical role in ensuring the School’s daily successes and providing the necessary supports and opportunities for the Catholic formation and growth of all students, in ministering to all students, families, faculty, and staff, and in overseeing the School’s long-term success, and the School’s integrous adherence and commitment to the Faith and its Catholic mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • The School President and CEO’s duties, responsibilities, obligations, and expectations are proper to the ecclesiastical office they assume as a minister of the Catholic Church. Duties, responsibilities, obligations, and expectations shall include, without limitation:
  • Serve as the chief representative of the School, within the school and within the Catholic and extended community
  • Promote and protect the School’s ties with the Catholic community through cooperation and communion with the Church, Church hierarchy, and the leadership of the Archdiocese of Denver.
  • Building and promoting the School’s Catholic educational culture, including ministering to students in their Catholic formation by infusing the cultural, academic, and liturgical life of the School with Catholic values, tradition, and belief
  • Inspiring excellence committed to virtue, discipleship, coherent and joyful witness to the Catholic faith and intervening, with appropriate, necessary, and adequate measures, when members of the School community do not comply with the principles of Catholic education and the criteria required by the universal, particular or proper law of the Church for schools
  • Optimizing the School’s resources and assets to position the School to effectively anticipate and otherwise respond to changing trends, emerging risks, and opportunities and ensuring the School’s financial stability and plan for growth in coming years
  • Providing leadership and support to achieve fundraising and enrollment goals and objectives
  • Implementing an annual strategic mission renewal planning process and building a collegial and collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement aligned to performance standards in the areas of Discipleship, Intellectual Formation, School Culture, and Executive Leadership

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The following are considered minimum requirements for persons seeking employment as a President and CEO in the Archdiocese of Denver. A President and CEO hired for an archdiocesan Catholic school shall:

  • Must be fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
  • Assent to the Church’s teachings on all matters, with particular care for those concerning the nature of the human person, sexual ethics, and sexual morality
  • Refrain from the public promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect, discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals
  • Have a strong commitment to the importance of the Catholic school ministry to the mission of the Church
  • Possess graduate-level academic credentials and/or professional background in education, leadership, or related field
  • Have previous teaching experience; previous administrative experience is preferred
  • Be committed to the Archdiocese of Denver’s vision and philosophy for Catholic education
  • Be committed to a Catholic educational program rooted in the liberal arts, the foundations of Western civilization, an understanding of history that highlights the essential contributions of Christianity to the development of Western culture, and literature that enables young men and women to grapple with big questions of life in pursuit of what is true, good, and beautiful
  • Possess a strong, positive, can-do attitude, with a strong bias for action based on realistic, specific, and attainable goals
  • Demonstrate good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of digital platforms, software programs, and tools used to communicate with the school community
  • Compliance with Safe Environment requirements

Ideal candidates:

  • Bring awareness and understanding of adolescent development and the challenges adolescents and young adults face in the secular and morally relativist world of today
  • Are supportive and willing to drive ongoing school renewal through the strengthening of authentic Catholic education
  • Are collaborative leaders who evaluate information before making a decision/taking action
  • Exude trust and respect among students, faculty, parents, and Boards
  • Possess a strong, positive, can-do attitude with a strong bias for action, based on realistic, specific, and attainable goals

In addition, the School President and CEO is expected to adhere to the minimum requirements for Catechist certification as set forth by the Archdiocese of Denver. All applicants must be screened and approved by the Office of Catholic Schools prior to local interviews with Search committees.
